Foot Hand Fire Pocket Ocean Water Sand by Sumon Bomya
Foot Hand Fire Pocket Ocean Water Sand by Sumon Bomya
I took your hand off
And a foot in a door
A door stop, and an ocean
In a winter in February.
I got that whole remembrance
And put it in my pocket.
I took my pocket
And I put it ‘round your hand.
Then I took your hand
And sewn it to that foot,
And foot your hand
Through my fire pocket,
That ocean’s red sand.
Now I’ve got that thing
That’s half foot, half hand,
Wrapped in a pocket
In a bottle
In the sand.
I rubbed it on my body
‘Cause I knew you were away,
And the sand chaffed me raw,
And the salt in my gums,
The seam of your foot-hand molded and dripped
All over me and I
Loved it. I open my mouth for it
Everyday.
